About Anna
I write the books I want to disappear into.
I’m Anna Everly, and I write cozy restoration mysteries for people who’d rather be somewhere else. The series follows June Rowan — a burnt-out journalist who reinvents herself as a garden restorer at forty — as she flies to beautiful, real, lived-in places and keeps finding the flowerbeds and the secrets buried in the same soil.
The cities are real, and I don’t research them from a guidebook. I write about places I’ve actually stood in — the smell of them at dusk, the way a town keeps its own quiet stories. I’ve lived in Oaxaca, Marrakech and Penang, and left a small piece of my heart in each of them, which may explain why I keep sending June back to visit. The houses, the families and the crimes are invented; the sense of a place is not.
None of the books are out yet — this is the very beginning. If you join the postcard list, you’ll travel alongside me while I write them, and you’ll read each story before anyone else in the world.
the promise
Curated escapism. Beautiful places, gentle mysteries, a slow-burn romance — and never, ever a cliffhanger that holds your heart hostage.
